Membership Requirements
Fellowship in NACB is open to AACC members who are doctoral level clinical scientists, and either (a) hold ABCC or equivalent board certification and be active in research, education, or service in clinical biochemistry, or (b) have at least 10 years of postdoctoral experience in clinical biochemistry plus distinguished achievements in research, education, or service and be recognized for outstanding contributions to the field. There is also a category of Associate Fellows for doctoral level individuals who have not completed Board certification or are not qualified through distinguished achievements. Applications must be submitted, accompanied by a check for the current year's dues, to the NACB office at AACC, 2101 L Street, N.W., Suite 202, Washington, DC 20037-1526. All applications will be reviewed by the Membership and Governance Committee which can approve all applicants for Fellowship under (a) above and all applicants for Associate Fellowship. Applicants for Fellowship under (b) above must be approved by a 2/3 vote of the Board of Directors following a recommendation of the Membership and Governance Committee.

Membership Benefits
In their first year, new Fellows and Associate Fellows may attend at no charge the Annual Membership Meeting and Awards Luncheon (usually held during the annual AACC meeting). Fellows and Associate Fellows receive all publications of the Academy, including a newsletter published three times per year and the LMPG monographs. Fellows are eligible to hold elective office (Officers, Board of Directors, or Nominating Committee), to vote in all elections or on proposed Bylaws amendments, and to serve on any committees. Associate Fellows are eligible to serve on any committees.
